African Women Council, Inc. (AWC) a 501 (c) 3 a humanitarian national and international Organization, was created in 2002 to helping the African Women immigrant in Montgomery County, State of Maryland and to alleviate the suffering of women and children in Africa start in Democratic Republic of Congo where the problem is acute.
To providing access to information in order to integrate successfully in their environment they live in literacy, health education, civic participation and promoting entrepreneurial.
African Women Council, Inc conducts workshop by providing a resources available in the community to educate in:
Techniques to secure meaningful employment and dress for success
Cultural conflicts in homes
African Women Council Inc. works to provide a holistic approach in improving the lives of African immigrant women by ensuring that they have the information needed to positively affect their lives. AWC has served beyond men/women and reached out to the African Continent by introducing the Sister State between the State of Maryland and the province of North-Kivu, Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
